Never Put Off Greeting Friends

Today, it's February 2019 and it with heavy heart that I learned that Jurgen had left us some 4 years ago.

We first met in about 1992 in Paris over a dinner party and, had we both not been in a relationship, I think that we could have been a couple. Despite our different backgrounds, there were many convergences between us: We were of the same age, both MDs, both with siblings who were also gay but with whom we had a bit of rivalry. We just hit it off metaphysically immediately, perhaps causing some chagrin to our respective partners at the time.

I subsequently left France for the US and now wish to return to my beloved 2nd country, France. Jurgen was one of the first of whom I thought since his profession would lead to his address easily.

Now, I am reminded that life is not to be taken for granted. I should have been more vigilant in keeping in touch over the years.

I'm sure he has touched many lives, both socially and among his patients.

My condoleances to his family and close relations.

Scott

Der Tod kann auch freundlich kommen
zu Menschen, die alt sind,
deren Hand nicht mehr festhalten will,
deren Augen müde werden,
deren Stimme nur sagt:
Es ist genug. Das Leben war schön.
Else, diese Kerze entzünde ich für Dich.
